My non-existent readers, how is your summer? Did the fireworks cause ripples in your realities, diminish your hearing, or just spook your dog? Answers.
I love answers just as much as I love questions, comments, sentences, fragments, and exclamations. The best answers are those I get for myself, the ones I receive in the most frustrating manner. I can see them floating in baskets in the river of my consciousness, a slow lazy river with several interspersed reeds and rocks that inhibit the path of my answer-baskets, but all of it is worth the wait because just as I open the basket an epiphany springs free and I can smile again. This time though, I have no baskets waiting to travel down my river, I have no inspiration, I have no passion.
I mentioned this earlier: my laziness. I am lazy. I am boring, or at least I feel so. Romance is nil, and excitement is weary. I'm waiting for something to live for, something that'll make me jump up and run in circles like small child with a pinwheel. Still, I have nothing.
What is your advice to a girl in a restrictive society, where success if valued above anything, where everything is metered to supposed perfection and not one has the right to complain? What is your advice to a girl who wants to travel in a hot air balloon to the far reaches of the Sahara only to find herself smacking the crusty desert poster on her wall? What is your advice to a girl who no longer knows where to turn?
Answers. Please.
I am locked in a box with a boulder planted firmly on a lid, and the key dangling on a branch overhead.
Update: Kitty and I have received our AP scores. I got a 3 (passing) on my AP Physics test and a 5 (the highest score) on my AP Spanish test (what is so sad about this is that I had to force myself to scream with joy, what more of a sign of repression). Kitty received a 5 on her AP Physics. So a huge congratulations to my darling!
Summer is a beautiful season. I have passed mine with an internship at UCSC caring for krill, traveling to LA and Yosemite, swimming in every body of water possible from ocean to lake to river to stream to pool, meeting with friends, forcing smiles, anticipating a trip to New Mexico, and wishing that some inspiration would come to my mind. Kitty has been on her plane, with family, and awaiting a trip to the East Coast with more planes. MauMau drinks Peet's daily, and holds hands with her sweet treat.
Loves to all and hope for the hopeless,
Mira

It's been more than a long time...
Hello everyone who has ever come across this blog!
Although I doubt anyone is bothering to read it, we haven't been posting in quite a long while even though we promised to post once a week. That failed without a doubt. But I'm reinstating a goal of posting once a month, especially now that is almost summer and I'll have a bit more free time.
The main updates I have concern swamping, thankfully not the literal kind. My brain and that of Kitty and Mau are swamped with end of school ties. Projects, and speeches, and tests. And of course the best thing of all finals! We're coping the best we can some better than others. (I place myself in the "others" category).
I speak for myself when I say the lazies have been infecting me for the past month or so. I'm too lazy to walk, to run, to jump, to talk, to be, to hear, to interact, to test, to write, to do anything that requires any sort of sensory response from me. I could blame this on school, or on my environment, or on my body, but all I really have to blame is myself.
There are times in our lives where we have to do things when we'd rather not. I think I'm going though one of those times. I won't go into detail because its hard and since I can barely but admit it to my brain I doubt I can admit this on paper.
I'll leave off saying I hope the rest of you are dandy and the smiles on your face stay fresh.
Loves,
Mira

Someone Like You
Apologies for the long wait on this blog.
This blog is dedicated to all those willful, wonderful, fantastic, loving, intelligent people (meaning gentlemen of the sort) who I will never have seen and will never look my way.
What I'm a Loving: the word Pana Po'o, which means to scratch ones head while trying to remember something in Hawai'ian. This word might just be the one to define me....

Me
Or Me
What I'm a Feeling: 100% empty, 20% confused, 43% happy, 17% spontaneous, 11% lonely, 9% anxious, and 1% mysterious*
What I'm a Looking Forward To: SoCal College Trip with my girls <3 Maybe sneaking some looks at hot college guys. Yum!
What I'm a Quoting: "You is kind. You is smart. You is important" from the Help. Have you seen it? If not, I beg of you to A. open a new tab and add it to your Netflix queue, B. steal it from your neighbor, or C.in a splash of spontaneity go to the library and check it out (A and B are preferable choices). This movie may be highlighted as a chick flick but it is also an investigation of racial prejudice in Southern society as well as a comedy. Watch out for the pie incident. Unforgettable.
What I'm a Eyeing: Totoro Plushie <3
What I'm a Listening to: Hakol Over by the Idan Raichel Project This song is too beautiful for words (which is probably why in the video a girl dances sign-language). All the music by the Project captures my heart with its worldly melodies and the extra fifth sense it contains. Listen to its beauty!
Also, I'm learning Italiano via Pimsleur.
Grazie per aver visitato il mio blog! <--courtesy of Google translate, I haven't gotten that far
What I'm a Reading: The Breakup Bible by Melissa Kantor So far so good. Definitely a girly book, but instead of being a book filled with snivels and gross tissues and is rather a book of recovery and apparently racial issues in school. And oh, the main character is a journalist for her school newspaper. Aren't I a sucker for those?
What I'm a Eating: Five Minute Chocolate Cake (from some site, but altered by moi)
Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter (half a regular bar)
3/4 cup of sugar (white or brown or a mix)
1/4 of milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
3 or 4 tablespoons (for the past year I've always put in 3 teaspoons, and it still tastes like ambrosia)
1 pinch of salt
1/4 of walnuts (optional)
1/4 of chocolate chips
Use a medium sized glass bowl. Melt butter in bowl for 30 seconds. Mix with sugar, milk, egg and vanilla. Then add flour, baking powder, cocoa, salt, and walnuts and chocolate chips (if you decided to add them).
Mix thoroughly. Taste. See if you want to add something. Once satisfied with pre-cooked flavor, cover slightly with a plate and warm on HIGH for 2 1/2 minutes minimum. Check consistency. Take out once the consistency is perfect for you.
Enjoy!
Feeds 2-4 peeps.
Time Total: 10 minutes (sorry the 5 minutes is a lie, but no the cake is NOT a lie)
What I'm a Chewing On: The Hypocrisy of Love, the World, and Existence (SOON TO BE RELEASED)
What I'm a Writing:
"I haz no inspiration
I haz no temptation
I haz no elation
Now shut up and leave me alone!"

P.S. I promise to post once a week...Let's see how this goes
To y'all who actually read this lovely blog of mine: How are you? Life treating you well (or not)? What's on your mind? Got any good recipes, jokes, or poems? Any of that is gold! I'd love to hear from you because whether you believe it or not, it will make my day.
Love to you, the world, the universe, and all the parallels beyond my comprehension <3

Welcome to the new bestie!
So Mira and I were the original ones to start this blog, but the "Besties" part of the title doesn't include just the two of us in real life. There are really three - and now the third, MusicMauMau (MauMau or Mau for short) has joined us! She hasn't posted anything yet but don't worry, Mira and I will knock some sense into her (not literally, I'd never beat up one of my best friends...) So welcome Mau! :D
This is also an update to mention that blog posts will hopefully be more periodic soon, starting sometime next week. The three of us have finals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week, so odds are we'll all be studying our brains out until that's over. Because of this, if you keep up with the blog, we'll either be ranting about tests or teachers, or we'll just be completely AWOL. So yeah. Something to watch out for. And then we'll pick it up again and maybe make some sort of schedule or just write about random stuff.
Sorry that this is such a short post, but the other option was a book review and I've already done two of those (two more than either of the others...) Maybe my next post will be reviewing the book I just finished. But until then, see you later!
